Abstract

Documents, reports, comments, interpretations... The various analyses of the past ecumenical council have shaped a river almost without shores. We should try the opposite direction, seek the fountain, although it supposes sailing upstream. In that case what would be the main contributions of Vatican II? Would there even something like a central legacy? To reach the goal we trust in experienced pilots of the theological ship which has weathered the troubled waters of the twentieth century (Chenu, Congar, De Lubac, Rahner, Ratzinger) and then grappled in the engine room of the conciliar cruiser.
