Our objective in this project consists in the exposition of the foundations of a Thomistic inspired natural theology, which we could synthesize by answering the question: is it possible for humankind to reach God by sole reason? In the Encyclical Letter Fides et Ratio, Pope John Paul II asked the Church to give a clear an precise answer to the modern world, joining both faith and reason, about the biggest questions around man. The Pope’s proposition consists in recovering the philosophia perennis of the Scholastic’s doctors. A philosophy grounded in the main principles of reason; principles which Saint Thomas Aquinas knew well, and whose understanding would be crucial in order to understand his thinking.
