Abstract

The treaties on the lives of saints or in the process of holiness have multiplied in the Catholic Church in the Baroque used as means of propaganda of the new ideology of Trent in front of the Protestantism, disseminating lives of eminent personalities know for their study of the word of God, their practice of sacraments, prayer and works of charity. This was the case of Saint Tomas de Villanueva who was archbishop of Valencia from 1545 until 1555, beatified in 1618 and canonized years later. This work present the biographies of the Augustinian father Miguel Salon and Francisco de Quevedo, in 1620, about the life of the Saint, whit information extracted from the statements of this process and aiming to spread to the entire Christian people the excellences of the life of Saint Tomas de Villanueva as a model and example.
