About the Journal

Since 1966...

Estudio Agustiniano is an academic journal of the Estudio Teológico Agustiniano of Valladolid and the Centro Teológico San Agustín (El Escorial, Madrid). Both are theological centers of the Order of St. Augustine in Spain.

Estudio Agustiniano was born in 1966 under the name of Archivo Agustiniano. Since 1968 it has been published under its present name and every four months (April, August and December). It has ISSN 0425-340X and ISSN-e 2792-260X. It is indexed in Dialnet and in the Index Theologicus (IxTheo) of the University of Tübingen.

Estudio Agustiniano publishes specialized articles and reviews on theology, Bible, philosophy and sciences of religion. It promotes an interdisciplinary approach to fundamental theology.

Estudio Agustiniano accepts articles in Spanish, English, German, French, Italian and Portuguese. Articles received are evaluated for publication by blind peer review.

Estudio Agustiniano is an open access journal which means that all content is freely available without charge to the user. THe users are allowed to read, dowload, copy, distribute, print, or link to the full texts of the articles, or use them for any other lawful purpose, without asking prior permission from the publisher or the author; provided the original author and source are credited. 

The journal Estudio Agustiniano does not charge any kind of fee to authors, although it publishes only those articles that it considers relevant or that contribute something to research.

The Directors of the journal have been PP. Lope Cilleruelo (1966-1970), José Morán (1970-1971), Constantino Mielgo (1972-1978), Alfonso Garrido (1979-1980), Zacarías Herrero (1981-1986), Domingo Natal (1987-1990), Pío de Luis (1991-2006),  Domingo Natal (2007-2015) y David Álvarez (2015-2022).
