This essay is a study of the life of friar Fco. Javier Valdés Noriega and some of his work, carried out by a great-grandson nephew. This microbiography aims to be a tribute on the centenary of his death (23rd of January 1913). Its preparation has provided me with the knowledge of the life and works of a relative who –at the beginning– was distant to me, almost unknown. And this knowledge has progressively led me to admire him and, above all, love him and adopt him as an example of the acceptance of the Lord’s will, always with the help of our most gracious Advocate, the Mother of Mercy.
