The Order of St. Augustine played a fundamental role during the siege of Manila and later in the resistance in the provinces. this article offers a state of the question of the mainaugustinian sources and their general contribution to the knowledge of the english invasion of the Philippines. the objective is to contextualize and provide the necessary information to understand the important role played by the augustinians during the war as their support for the anda government. a detailed study of the life of the augustinian corporation is offered from before the arrival of english and during the conflict.
