Abstract

Autobiographical writing by Santos Sabugal García (1937-2024), born in Los Barrios de Gordón (León) and died in Civitavecchia (Italy), in which he narrates the most important events of his life. Birth, education, Augustinian religious, studies at the Augustinian Seminary of Calahorra (La Rioja), the Pontifical Biblical Institute (Rome), and the University of Basel (Switzerland). Doctor in Sacred Scripture from the Pontifical Biblical Institute (1972), whose doctoral research was directed by the Jesuit Ignace de La Potterie; professor of Bible at the Institutum Patristicum ‘Augustinianum’ (Rome) and at the Pontifical Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum (Rome); apostolic work (catechist and evangelizer); author of numerous articles and 16 books, including: Christós. Investigación exegética sobre la cristología joannea (1972); La conversión de San Pablo. El problema teológico e histórico (1976); La curación del ciego de nacimiento (Jn 9,1-41) (1977); El Padrenuestro en la interpretación catequética antigua y moderna (1982); Abbá ... La Oración del Señor. Historia y exégesis teológica (1985); La embajada mesiánica de Juan Bautista (Mt 11, 2-6 = Lc 7, 18-22) (1980); Credo. La fe de la Iglesia. El símbolo de la fe (1986); La Iglesia, sierva de Dios (1987); Anástasis. Resucitó y resucitaremos (1993); La Nuova Evangelizzazione (1999); and Nuova Catechesi (2008). And finally, he presents himself as founder, together with Angela Allegro, and charismatic trainer of the diocesan Association “Agustinas, Servants of the Lord for Evangelization”, A.S.E.E.
