Iglesia de San Agustín de Mompox convertida en Basílica

On May 3, 2012, the church of Saint Augustine in Mompox (Colombia) was converted into a minor basilica with the Holy Christ which should be made known. The convent was founded in 1605 and the church was consecrated on April 2, 1606. It was a mission center
and had a hospice, primary and grammar school. Collaborated with the Augustinians, D. Pedro de Pinillos, whose remains and his wife's are buried in this church, where there is much worship of Saint Augustine and the Holy Christ, a miraculous image originating from Quito. It is very famous as the Nazareno of Saint Augustine in Bogota.
