This article deals with the fourth book of professions of the convent San Agustín de Zaragoza (1664-1684). The books of religious
professions are a documentary source of first order for the knowledge of the human, cultural and social characteristics of the members of a religious province.Throughout seven consecutive works will be presented each of the books of professions that are conserved of the convent San Agustín of Saragossa (1605-1834, except the book seventh, 1730-1799, to be lost) and the basic data of the professors: name (s) and surname (s), their parents’ name, place of origin or birth, parish of baptism, date of religious  profession, name of the prior or subprior of the house and prior general of the Order of St. Augustine, who was the master of novices, and even the notary who testified to the fact of the profession. In turn, the acts of profession offer other details of no less importance to the multifaceted task of the historian.
