The Federation of Spanish Augustinians and the Catholic Publishing House-Library of Christian Authors agreed in 1944 to publish the most significant works of the Bishop of Hippo. In a second moment, they decided to publish them in their entirety. The article exposes the various stages of the project, now a reality, which coincide with various contracts signed by both institutions. From a critical perspective, the agreements reached and the level of compliance with them are pointed out, along with circumstances that conditioned the project and its execution.
