Abstract

In the following pages, I present the reader with a brief historical review of the priory of San Augustin in Badajoz, its foundation, life  of the community and definitive abolition; as well as all the steps that were carried out until the old convent church became the headquarters of the parish of Santa María la Real. The study, based mainly on unpublished documents, reveal many relevant aspects of what this augustinian foundation in the city of Badajoz meant.
